Geese in the Field

We have seen so many animals on the farm over the years, and even a visit from a gaggle of geese delights. For several years, a pair of golden eagles nested in the huge tree to the west of the fields. Other years, foxes and their kits, skunks, possums, a family of raccoons, coyotes, deer, and a bobcat or two. The raccoons were especially meddlesome and delightful; one night we found two on the back porch, holding leftovers from dinner in their grubby little hands and looking at us as if to ask, “Where’s dessert?” The place is a delight for families who love nature and wildlife, and a refuge for the wildlife, for sure.
